no, see, what we don't need is another escalation. This just makes me sick, and very very sad. But what the reaction here reminds me of is the most powerful argument I have ever heard against spanking... that it is very easy to get trapped into a never-ending escalation, and when the methods of punishment are physical, the consequences of escalation quickly become unacceptable to the punisher as well as the punishee.

But oh hell yeah, it's barbaric, and the more so that the man apparently was a real advocate for Saudi society. Nothing like killing off your friends cause it's easier than hunting down anyone else. Sigh.
