Nope. They are "gettin rid" of Spectra in the way that the last release -
1.5.1 was the last feature added one. The community source license is
operating now (as it always has) so Spectra developers are going to be the
ones forwarding it. It aint dead. far from it; it will continue to grow for
a while yet.

The COAPI of Spectra is being ported, or some of it at least, to Neo; it has
a codename of Greylock.

As for the competition - no they will not be competing for the same market
as such. JRun is a totally diff product to what Neo will become. Neo is CF
on steriods :-) As Ben said - Neo will allow developers to code in CFML but
behind the scenes utilising Java....v.v.v.nice.

Macromedia have 3 clear (I think its 3!) distinct product maps - something
like Dream Tools/Products, Rich-Media Products, and Server Products. From
what I know and see of MM, they are focusing clearly on what the web can be
and I expect that all the tools and apps will interlink to some degree.
Much like Sitespring does with say JRun as its back end.

Hope this helps.
