I'm just waking up now. The conversations on the car ride to (and from)
the conference were fantastic.
The highlights of the presentations (that I went to) were Dave Watts SQL
Server presentation (I wish he didn't get cut off), Sean Corfield's Mach II
at Macromedia presentation (Although I wish it delved into some
code). Ray's presentation on CFCs was crowded (and always) but probably
offered no surprises to those who read the CFCDev list.
I wish they allowed more time for Mr Forta's keynote. The "big new
feature" that he spoke about (which hadn't been talked about yet) was
Blackstone's ability to respond to requests other than web based ones. The
example he used was "drop a text file in a folder, and ColdFusion will
notice the change and process it." The processing was to add an entry into
a database. A very simple example, but could have large ramifications.
That said, my favoritest part from last year, the networking get together
on Saturday night sucked. The music was too loud, and I decided it was no
place to hold a conversation with anyone and ended up back in my room
(doing work).
