"Red Rock Country", about 2 hour drive north of Phoenix.
And the Grand Canyon.
Events even affected us there -- had activities cancelled or rescheduled due
to shock, respect, and/or FAA restrictions.
Was happy to have a flight home yesterday, or it would have been a LONG
drive in the rent-a-car.
Found out about the events when a tour operator called, woke us up just
after 8am (11am east coast), said our tour was being cancelled due to "the
events of the day". I said "what events?" She said "haven't you been
watching tv?" I said, "no, we're on vacation, we've been ASLEEP!" She said
"well, you better turn on the tv!". Shock, shock...
