However hasn't the the Green Party already stated that if a Green
candidate's presence will throw the race to a republican (and there's
obviously no chance for the Green candidate to win) that the candidate will
drop?

Err - shouldn't someone who wants to be president try to be president? What
is wrong with that? I'm against Bush and I know Nader will take votes from
Kerry, but shoot, who said we should only have 2 people to choose from.
