Just bear with me as I make a pit stop into fantasy world.
The public perception of Bush is that he is a not too bright cowboy. I
don't want to disparage the guy behind his back, but even his former
Secretary of the Treasury has already written a book describing the blank
stares Bush would throw him as he described complicated economic
scenarios. But imagine, just imagine that in fact he really is a master
mind. He can in fact pronounce the world nuclear and it was all a ruse.
It's not Cheney but Bush who has a secret stash of Halliburton stock in a
Bermuda holding company. And it was Bush that secretly pulled the "do a
fellow-Texan-a-big-favor scam" on Cheney and was really the person wanting
the no-compete contract knowing full well that Cheney would take the
heat. So here's Cheney, "the most dangerous old man in the world", and he
takes all this heat because Bush pulled a fast one on the whole
world. And because no one considers Bush to be a large threat he get's
off clean.
This would make a great movie. Of course no Hollywood studio would ever
green light a project that brought such levels of corruption to the highest
levels of the goverment.
