Speaking of taxes - today I got a letter from the IRS saying I owed more
money because I didn't list a dependant right. You see, for some reason, the
IRS has never heard of adoption, and has never heard of the concept of not
having a SSN. So because my son doesn't have a SSN, they think I shouldn't
be able to use him as a dependant. Perhaps I should send a diaper or two to
convince them they exist.
Sorry - this just bugs the hell out of me. We had the same problem last year
with our daughter. The exact same damn problem.
