Halle Berry sizzles in Catwoman.

We had to wait in line for Spiderman, and my daughter said something
about a poster for Catwoman. I said it reminded me of an interview I
saw with the actress that played Catwoman in the Batman movie,
Michelle Pfeiiffer maybe. Anyway, she was saying it took a long time
to get the costume on and she couldn't sit down when she was wearing
it. Yes, said the talk show host, "I think I speak for the boys of
America when I say, we enjoyed that.."

The boys of America will enjoy this Catwoman. There was an excerpt
from it before Spiderman. Hell, it looks like the girls of America
will enjoy it too. Leather, stiletto heels... and a whip. My comment
as the excerpt ended was "wow."

I am actually rather impressed that the current crop of heroines seems
to be quite competent if not powerful. I said so to my daughter and
when we got home she started a collage that interestingly seems to
focus on women in burqas. A central piece of text: "They will be
able." Hmm.

Anyway, there was also an excerpt from "A Series of Unfortunate
Events." I was informed that we have to see this.

"We have to see this," I repeated, amused. Come on, said Lara, I have
read all of the books. We HAD to see Harry Potter, and we HAVE to go
see this. Fortunately for my pocketbook it isn't due out till
December, but those of you who would like to impress preteen relatives
can probably use the heads up. Yes. They are making a Lemony Snickett
movie. With Jim Carey. And Jim Carey. And Jim Carey.  Be warned :)
