I tend to do something of that sort with the people I hang around with who are of the same ethinic group/nationality.  More so with the ones that are very Americanized.  I would speak in native tongue, just to remind them, of their roots.   Errr something like that.

I just do it heh.

It may well be, but Cosby's point is for the Blacks to "get over it" and press
on, taking advantage of what it takes to be a success which is not racial at
all.  He encourages them to take their own initiative to better themselves,.as
opposed to remaining in a rut, and staying full of anger.
There are many people, of all ethnic backgrounds that carry around a heavy load
of anger over some bygone and perceived "injury" which has become an obsession
or habit.  Little do they realize that it is their own selves that are keeping
them from advancing in society.  The common reaction of to blame it on someone
else or the ambiguous statement; "racism"

This reminds me of a next door neighbor who happens to be black, raised in the
military and is a Major in the US Air Force.  They are as nice a neighbor as one
would want, but he does have this fetish, and that when he hires a yard man,
etc. he always makes sure they are white.  I think it is an ego thing.
They have a 20 year old college student son who is, as far as I can see
completely assimilated into contemporary society, and our family and his are all
good friends, socialize together, etc. He has no problems mixing is any crowd.
One of his favorite quips to his dad is along the lines of " Hey, Dad, everyone
can see that you are black, why do you go to such ends just to make sure they
know it?"  We all start laughing every time we hear that.

I cut my own lawn, and he hires a white man to do his.   comments?

it's still racism regardless of its causes. It may be understandable
but it's still racism. There is no moral difference between jumping a
white man because he is white and jumping a black man because he is
    black.

I wouldn't call that racism...I would call it unforgived anger, bitterness,
    etc.

Yeah man especially the stuff about what the people in the civil rights
movement went through, and the Tillman kid.

Chris Rock:  Now when it comes to racism you know who the most racist people
are for real?  OLD BLACK MEN.  you find a brother over 60..I know some of
you white people know an old black man you go "Oh Willie at the job he's so
nice"...WILLIE HATES YOUR GUTS!   Nuthin more racist than an old black man.
you know why?  cos an old black man went through some REAL racism.  He ain't
go through that "I can't get a cab sh*t".  He WAS the cab.  White man just
jump on his back, "MAIN STREET!".

This man talks sense.  I think that he's got good points too.  If I talk
with someone, regardless of their race, and they can't speak correctly and
can't enunciate words right, I assume they're not that intelligent (Bush)
    or
      just lazy.

"I can't even talk the way these people talk, 'Why you ain't,' 'Where you
is' ... and I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk," Cosby said
then. "And then I heard the father talk ... Everybody knows it's important
to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with
    that
kind of crap coming out of your mouth."
