and this past weekend we had some terrible lightning in our area. All my
equipment is on two APC UPS/Surge Protection Battery Backup units. One
lightning strike hit close by and caused complete darkness for about 2
minutes. I noticed my UPS units flashed red (overload). All came back on
fine then last night while I was in the middle of some coding my machine
rebooted, then it shut down about an hour later without me doing it! Now it
will not boot and I fear it is the motherboard, ugh. Now for the shitty
part: I have an IDE RAID array setup in the box with 4 Maxtor hard drives.
In addition, I have 1 Maxtor HD setup to hold my daily backups. All the new
motherboards I am looking into replacing this one with support Serial STA
RAID (SATA) but not IDE RAID.
Is there anyway for me to hook my IDE RAID array up to the Serial ATA RAID?
The board came with an adapter for one drive so I am thinking maybe so....
anyone ever done this? By the way, the board I am looking to replace the
Abit one with is the MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR

My RAID array at home has 6 partitions on it (Adobe scratch disks, SQL
log/transaction, window swap, file store, programs, OS, etc...) so I can not
lose this!
Anyone have some suggestions?
Mike
