It was a reference to the first movie. The green mask was the Green
Goblin
played by William Dofoe (sp?).
With the way William is aging, I didn't think he needed any makeup or a
mask to portray the Green Goblin.
The balls are not tritium but were explosives. In the comics they were
shaped like pumpkins.
