Which federal law prohibits the sale to minors?

THE GUN CONTROL ACT OF 1968 only states juveniles cannot own or carry
handguns, I'm not aware of any other laws on the subject and the ATF
currently does not enforce any other laws on the subject,

What other federal gun laws are there?

No a 16 year old can't.  Federal law prohibits that sale to minors.  The
yellow form require ID and proof of age.  Also the whole "assault weapon"
argument is silly.  An AK-47 is an assault weapon.  It is a fully
automatic
machine gun.  An NHM-61 (civilian version) is not one in my eyes.  It is
really no different than any other semi-automatic rifle, other than in
  looks.

While your state government has few gun laws (I prefer none) the federal
government has reams of gun laws (again I prefer none).

I agree, however, the federal government has few laws on these matters,
  only
getting in to the realm of assault and military grade weapons.

In Kentucky for instance we have very few gun laws, the only
restrictions
are for handguns for juveniles, and non-law enforcement having guns on
    school grounds.

Here a 16 year old can legally purchase an assault rifle without his or
  her
    parent's permission.

    Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech,
or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and
to
petition the government for a redress of grievances.

[TIM] This amendment has been used to give everything from privacy to
abortion.  It has been construed in almost every case to expand the
rights
    of the individual.

    Amendment II

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free
state,
the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

[TIM] This amendment has been said to be a right of the states.  Mind
you
all of the other rights outlined in the bill of rights were those of the
individual.  The second clause of the sentence is the one I feel has
been
mainly ignored "the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not
  be
infringed".  I all other cases the phrase "the people" means the
  individual.
Therefore there should be no laws in regards to firearms.
