The Irish predate the Norman invasion by centuries, at least. As do the
Welsh, the British (pretty much a lost tribe now, being wholly assimilated
by the Anglo Saxon and Normans), and the Scottish.  All Celt tribes.

That's debatable.  The Irish were Norman from what I remember of my world
history classes, not Saxon.  That was part of why they were so reviled by
the English.  But I don't want to start an argument.  My brain hurts too
much.  Let's debate good house wines.  I had a great Spanish white over the
weekend, but I forgot the winery name.
