>> Any children's book authors out there?
I have a project I may need to some kids stories for. Just curious if there
are any children's book authors connected to the list.
More noise later,
Eric

For web serving, you don't need to go expensive with a capture card, just
get something that works decently. I used to use a USB-based input box that
cost $70 at office depot to server 3000 simultaneous connections to a
Windows Media Server but I can't remember the name.
As far as publishing audio/video on the website, I highly recommend Windows
Media Encoder. It's free for Windows users and has excellent quality. It
does not save as MP3, but the format allows for serving from the Windows
Media Server (free with 2000 and 2003 servers) and the content will be more
highly compressed. Also, as it's streaming rather than full download,
clients will be able to retrieve and watch the video more quickly. However,
be sure to watch the number of simultaneous connections as it will eat the
bandwidth quickly if you have too many.
BTW, how are ya'll doing lately? I've not been able to post to the list
'cause I've got some many things going on right now.

Can anyone recommend an MP3 encoder similar to RealProducer?
Also, a friend at a church wants to start publishing some video/audio on
their website. Any recommendations on formats and hardware?
Cheap capture card versus more expensive. etc. Probably prefer a device
that
does the encoding to minimize impact on the CPU. USB?
