Type about:config in the address bar and look for browser.cache.check_doc_frequency and set that to 1.

Tools, Downloads, Options is not really a silly place IMHO.

Then change that setting, compile and put that version on the intranet. The power of Open Source :-)

And since this started about security: it is time to visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ again, because it truely was another Black Tuesday for security.
