WTF?? that is the most retarded thing i've heard all day.

HRm what about all the slave owners back in the 19th Century. Damn that emancipation proclamation. Blacks trying to change laws to fit their lives!

1960's damn blacks doing their civil rights things, trying to change laws to fit their lives.

In all 3 of these cases nobody is trying to change anything to FIT their lives. They are trying to change laws to make their lives better.
You are better off today then you would have been with slavery. And gays will be better off when they can marry then they are today.

Say i was gay, i am in love i want to be with Larry Lyons the rest of my life... I die and i was rich i try to leave it all to larry and he gets NOTHING most of the time. We're not married i can't do jack to help him out unless i can find a way to work it out with my family. Or i want to give my healthinsurance to larry its not gonna happen. it will make their lives better. stop feeling so damned threathened that your kids are going to be ruined. Thats poppycock.
I am trying to have kids now and they will know there are gay people in the world and they just want to be happy. accepting the fact is not going to make them goto "hell" its not going to do anything by try to break the cycle of hate and discrimination in this country. I don't think it ever will though, first it was indians then blacks then etc etc, we'll always have something to discriminate aganist.

Does ANYONE on this list get my point about the "fear" of people chaging
laws to fits their lives...which WILL change society

Like teens challeneging stat. rape laws, drinking laws and the like.

First, IIRC in most states I think that there is NO law preventing gay
marriage. It's just something that has traditionally been that nobody
would perform the ceremony. So by having a judge rule that it's not
illegal is not changing the law, it's clarifying that there isn't a
law in the first place. Many states are now scrambling to get laws on
the books to prevent such a ruling. So it's actually the
anti-gay-marriage people who are making the fuss.

Second, even if a law IS passed to allow gay marriage, I'm honestly
baffled to see how that affects YOU. It doesn't deny you the right to
believe that it's wrong. However, passing a law to prevent it IS
  denying someone a right.

See now, we already talked about the separation of church and state issue.
