I assume that they are trying to be "first in the door" and when you have
no competitors, you can charge more. I suspect that over time the price
will come down.
I'll also add that the BlueDragon Server (the free version) cannot be
used on shared hosting. I believe the licensing text says something along
the lines of "cannot be rented" but I haven't read it since it went gold.
That said, I think the price difference between BD JX and CF Pro are
probably negligible in the long run (~$400?) from the perspective of a web
host.
I wish that BD Free version could be added to every $2 a year host that
supports "PHP" and "ASP" and ".NET"
