No it's not that... It's that everyone assumes that the two people
preparing to get married feel they are in love. It is rather the rule
- marriages of convenience are the exception... But you don't have to
get married because you're in love - there are plenty of people who
are happy to just be in love. (The entertainment industry to the
contrary.) So for most it's a prerequisite but not necessarily a
motivation for getting married.
