I agree, once again we are faced with a lesser of two evils election.

It always amuses me how people are so against the Patriot Act, yet they want
the government to protect them.

This trade off between personal freedom and protection, conservatives always
go way to far to the right: "if you're not doing anything wrong, you have
nothing to worry about", while liberals are way to simplistic and naive: "i
want my freedom AND your protection".

The freedoms that are attacked by terrorrists are the very freedoms that
allow them to make such attacks.

Likely we get 8 more years of corruption regardless of who wins the
election... in my experience the only good politician is one who's not
in a position to effect any kind of change. It'd be really nice to be
wrong about that in the near future -- I'd like to hope Kerry isn't as
evil as Bush, but I'm not holding my breath. I'll still be voting for
Kerry -- not because I have any faith in the man, but because Bush and
his entourage have taken too many actions I feel to be fundamentally
evil such as the Patriot Act and "Defense of Marriage".
