Forgive me if this response gets lengthy. I am not the best writer in the
world. Ive seen some people write incredibly moving emails that I cann
ot
begin to compare with.

I really hope everyone reads this entire email because this is the
real
 me, and my family.

My family is in state of confusion that I cannot begin to describe and
 I
dont know where to start. I dont know if Im alone in this feelin
g.

I personally didn't find any humor in that particular joke (below) - no
offense to the writer intended. I understand everyone has a slightly
different sense of humor.

I would appreciate people continuing to submit jokes though.
It tends to help brighten the day a bit.

I think we (as a nation) need to fight back by having faith in our econom
y,
our government, and our people. This is sometimes difficult knowing that
a
large number of our citizens go through life blinded by our own inability
 to
recognize important changes in the worlds political arena. We should h
ave
seen this coming. Some of us did.

For our economy, we need to continue purchasing... even though it appears
that shit is about it hit the fan. The upswing of our economy is director
y
fueled by the recycling of our financial resources into the banking syste
m.
The downswing is caused by the instability and fear we sense in our own
country.

This would be an incredible tragedy to see our nation fall to its knee
because our economy couldn't withstand a terrorist attack. These attacks
have gone on for many, many years. It is something our "Allies" deal with
everyday of their lives... it is not new to them. We disregard the 15 sec
ond
terrorist bombing clips that occasionally appear in the news. I think mos
t
people in this country didnt even know where Afganistan was before
this
incident occurred.

Our country has become so "fat" with luxuries - we have forgotten what it
took to get what we have. I hope we have not forgotten whats really
important.

For our Government, I think we need to support them by flying the America
n
Flag - and continuing our search for more information about this crisis.
We
need to let our Government know that we support them. Like it or not... w
e
need the Government to protect our way of life.

I think a lot of people believe our Government is a nuisance. They pry...
they get in the way. They violate our civil liberties.

I believe our relationship is symbiotic. Our Government needs us as much
as
we need them.

I believe it is the Governments' job to protect us, and our future.
I believe it is our job to protect our children, our families, and our
Government.

I think we need to support our Soldiers, our Police Officers, our Firemen
,
and our Teachers. You have to admit they have honorable jobs.

I was raised as a military brat overseas... and I personally know
first-hand, what life is like in third-world countries. I appreciate
everyday I spend in this country.

For our people - we need to have faith that our citizens have learned a
valuable lesson. I really hope people understand how big this is.

It really scares me to know that there are people in our own country - wh
o
think this was not an Act of War.

If you are one of them - shame on you. You are here for all the wrong
reasons. Shame on us - for allowing you in this country.

I dont think we should shut out the world. We need to do the exact
opposite. We need to better understand our world... and spend less time
living our lives through movie and TV stars. We need to continue living o
ur
lives knowing that there are a lot of people out there who want our way o
f
life to end. They find us offensive. To some this may surprise you.

We need to see life as it really is. Take off the glasses.

Hollywood is not real. It never was.

The people who died... were.

This threat... is.

I would rather live free and lose some civil liberties in order t
o keep
what I have and to get back what Ive already lost.

My families sense of security.

ps:
I think we need to bring back the Pledge of Allegiance.

I've attached an interesting jpg - showing a new World Trade Center.

As in a mushroom cloud......

Not particularly funny, considering Pakistan has nukes and there will
probably be US forces on the ground.
