I'm sure the hope is that a horse stepping on a marble will slip and
fall and potentially break its leg. I don't know if that's the actual
result. Depending on the marble, the horse, the shoes, and random
circumstance, I could see the marbles getting stuck behind the hoof or
breaking under the horse's weight.
