If the thing that blew the circuit is still there and on it'll just blow
again instantly.
You might also look for other things on the same breaker and turn them as
well - we've got a problem here (for example) that we can have the microwave
and the toaster on at once, but if the refrigerator kicks on at the same
time we blow the breaker. If you've got a basement fridge or freezer on the
same fuse try unplugging it before resetting the breaker.

Subject: Anyone know anything about house fuses?
Michael isn't home, and isnt answering his phone
Basically yesterday our basement flooded. Our old steam cleaner wasn't
working so yesterday it was the wet/dry vac and today we got a new steam
cleaner which I am using to pull water out of the rug. Its working fine, I
got about 1/5th of the way through the basement and all of a sudden no
power.
I thought it was a power outage at first, then noticed that upstairs is
okay. I went to the fusebox and sure enough the breaker for the basement is
on the wrong side. I flipped it and it didn't want to stick. Eventually it
sticks in the on position but still no power.
