Ha! Reminds me of when I worked at a retail store and a mother brought
her crying child into the store and up to the counter. She made the
child confess that he had stolen some stickers from the kids aisle. I
stood there stalwart and took the stickers with a forced somber face.
A coworker a little ways off saw a crying child, but hadn't seen the
stolen sticker apology, thought she'd cheer him up so she came over,
reached under the counter, and pulled out, get this, a box of stickers
we keep at the counter to give out free to kids.
The mother was furious and the kid was so baffled that he's probably
still confused 15 years later now.
