Perhaps... but then given all the other evidence, I don't think France
was unreasonable in not supporting the war.

But it's also not unreasonable for someone like Kerry to say they
still would have gone to war -- given certain circumstances -- and
those circumstances including UN approval (and better evidence).
Perhaps Kerry might have hoped to gain better intelligence which might
change conditions in the UN.

I'm not saying I'm a staunch Kerry supporter. I only plan to vote for
Kerry because I despise Bush and believe him to be a short-sighted,
egotistical, self-centered bastard who's done huge amounts of harm to
the world. Kerry may very well be the same, but he's our best hope for
getting bush out of office (if not out of power) and therefore I plan
to vote for him.

What I have said is that I haven't seen significant evidence (yet) for
me to believe that Kerry is as evil as I believe Bush to be.

As to oil for food... although it's possible that this might have had
something to do with France's motivations for vetoing UN approval of
the war, it should not simply be assumed that this is the case.
