That's the basic problem, he's a back-bencher. His goofy "Reporting for Duty!" statement at the convention is starting to come back at him too. The issue of the Cambodia incursion, the stories about the medals and how they were won, the reenactment of episodes on his camera- all that stuff makes his words ring hollow. I'm not sure who would have been better, though. Clark? Not. Leiberman? Not going to get the Dem nod, too conservaive. Edwards? Still too young. Dean? Ha, Karl Rove wishes. Next time there will be a better field.
