Yep...I'm in Tampa, so it blew right by us.  We barely got a drop of rain.
We got up at 5:30am, listened to the news report, which said it was going to
nail tampa head-on, hit the gas station (slowest pump ever-took 20 minutes
to get 12 gallons of gas), lowe's, packed up some stuff around the house and
then headed to Brandon.  (Brandon's about 25 minutes inland, right by I-75.)
Then I played scategories with the in-laws and watched the news reports
change their tune throughout the day.  I was home in tampa by 9pm.  Really,
really, really big build-up...then a giant sigh of relief.

I've got a ton of family in Ft Myers, and everyone I know came out unharmed.
But a lot of my fishing buddies took some serious damage on the islands.
You'll probably seen their boats and fish houses on the tube and in photo
slideshows.

All-in-all...Tampa escaped the "Big One", and Punta Gorda took one on the
chin and in the a**->

Tyler, how did you fare? I'm guessing everything's cool since it
missed you and you posted yesterday.

Jon Hall hasn't posted in about a year, but he was in Dunedin or
thereabouts, IIRC.
