LOL... I'll be 30 in November.
It's actually not all that unlikely that my dad worked on CP/M. I know
he worked on the code for several versions of DOS -- for which
companies I'm not sure. I know he worked for TI which is how my
grade-school got a bunch of TRS-80's and we were being taught Logo in
3rd grade (well, as much Logo as you can teach to a 3rd grader -- some
of the other kids were remarkably good at it, to the extent of writing
simple video games with a little help -- I was not one of them. :) He
ended up working for a lot of different computer companies - NEC, Data
General, some others... He had sort of a melt-down and by the end was
jumping from one company to the next pretty quickly... Finally he got
out of IT and became a freelance auto-sports journalist for Nascar,
reporting for On Track and Autoweek and was exclusively in the Nascar
industry for a good long while before finally going back to school
(SMU in Dallas where I grew up) to get an MSCE and now in his early
50's is a network administrator near Detroit.
Dunno why anybody would find this interesting. :) I had a few minutes
to kill... I'm watching the Rock on DVD before I have to pick up Tiff
from the airport at 10:20 tonight.
