into my lap-top. The few places I've gone w/ wireless (My parents house,
one of my clients, CFUN)... the wireless wouldn't work. Very frustrating.
So, anyway... I finally got some time to get down to my parents place
and get on the phone w/ tech support. After 2 hours the only thing they
had me do was delete the card from the device manager and reboot my
computer. That didn't help at my parent's house...
When I got home the card is now finding three different networks from my
home. (Presumably neighbors). I was able to connect to the "wide open"
one and it all works. Yeah!
The only other thing that tech support (the computer is an HP by the way)
said is to update the firmware on the router. I had my brother check and
there is an update which will add "G" support, so that could have been why
it didn't work from home.
Anyone have any recommendations for a DSL wired / wireless firewall
router. One w/ a built in print server would be even better. I know that
Netgear has one
<http://www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.php?prodID=220> . Any
alternatives? Based on the problems w/ my current Netgear product, I'm not
gung ho about buying another.
