I asked the same thing -- is the purpose to pick long-term stocks or
to have the greatest rate of return at the end of a given time? The
answer given was that we needed to have a reason for picking a given
stock and be able to explain it. And that the person with the greatest
ROI might get some sort of reward. So it would be nice to "win", but
that's not the only thing, or I would not be in Ebay :)

I am in it because it's in a finance class. I took the class once
before in a semester when really bad stuff happened and wound up with
an F because I had to tend to survival issues. So I am backfilling. I
have since had a securities license so I am kinda just playing... but
interested in any ideas. I am not planning on buying any stocks at
this time, too broke.

What is the purpose of the game? To win or to exercise for some time
in the future when you might want to invest for real?
