Because the administration, of whom this girls father is a major figure,
supports a constitutional amendment to specifically marginalize a
certain group of the population, of whom this girl is a not-so-secret
member.  Pointing out rank hypocrisies is par for the course, politically.

Andrew Sullivan had a very good observation on the different reactions
to Kerry's remark last night.  I'd just be parroting his points by

In a nutshell, Kerry didn't do anything scurrilous, and the gasps of
horror from conservatives is another telling indicator of rank homophobia.
