depends on the city. Short a major windfall, I can't afford Manhattan.
Bear in mind that I really need a three or preferably a four bedroom.
But cities aren't always hyperexpensive. We had a pretty nice place in
Dayton Ohio for very little. Montreal wasn't bad at all.  And there
are a lot of small cities. I liked Sault Ste Marie but wasn't brave
enough to try winters there :) A childhood in Edmonton was enough for
me :)

I think back east there is often the element of crime to consider. I
am liking Albuquerque, though. Portland Oregon was great.
