Puppies don't talk back
Puppies don't want to go to Ivy League schools
They don't need Nike's
They love you no matter what
They eat whatever you dish out *(providing you haven't spoiled them)
You can drop them off at the kennel and go away on vacation.
Ours sleep all day, and amuse us constantly when they are awake.
They go into crates when we go out for dinner
It doesn't cost an arm and a leg to go on vacation or to a ball game
They don't scream at the top of their lungs in the grocery store because
you haven't bought them their favorite food
They don't slam doors
They don't crash cars
They don't get high on drugs
They don't smoke
They don't get pregnant (if you have them fixed)
They don't get married (no weddings to pay for)
The list is long ...
As for kids looking after you when you get old? That's why we'll be
checking into an assisted living community if we last that long. Senior
abuse at the hands of neglectful, ungrateful kids is actually quite a
problem in this country (as I know some nursing homes are problems too)
- so we'll take our chances at the old folks home. At least there's
plent to play bingo with. :)
NOW - don't get me wrong - you people that HAVE or ARE HAVING kids have
my utmost respect!!!! You should all be on a saints list ... It's just
not something we could do or ever will do. Not in our makeup.
We'll stick to puppies. Puppies, kittens and horses.
