I suppose. but then again I appreciate a cop that does his job, namely
enforcing the law.  They're not here to interpret the laws or to decide
justice.

At the same time the article isn't very clear.  It makes it seem like she
simply, gracefully, strolled up and tapped him one.  She could have very
well been hysterical and a danger to herself and others at the time (we've
all seen at least the commercials for "Cops").

She may have been warned before hand not to take action (as most officers
will do).

The specifics just aren't clear enough to judge the officers in the case.

I also agree with Kevin: she did, in fact, break the law.  However she was
also granted the equivalent of a legal tongue-lashing.  I'm not sure but I
believe that after the probation period (if all goes well) that the charge
is actually dropped from the record.  In other words she won't be a
"convicted felon" (as I would guess her boyfriend's going to be).
