You are right about Florida, except they rigged it so Buchanan would get 5,000 votes in Palm Beach. Whoops! Sore losers like to whine, "We wuz robbed!", and the Democrate have looked like a bunch of sore losers for the last four years.
The election in 2000 was a draw, statistically speaking, a draw nationally and a draw in several individual states- some of which (like Florida) Bush won, and some of which Gore won. That's just how it is. This race could be the same way if the trends keep going the way they are now, and either guy could win.
