When I had similar type of problems a year or so ago, I bought a DVD RW
drive.  It takes 3 DVDs for me to backup my stuff.

I back-up (theoretically) every 2 weeks (or when Erica reminds me to),
and "revolve" 2 sets of discs.  The first week of the month I'll back-up
onto one set.  The third week, I'll backup onto the second set.  The first
week of the next month, I'll re-use the media from the first set.

I try to co-ordinate the backup w/ bill paying and/or client invoicing.
