I plan to be out this weekend, actually.

But I really am not sure how New Mexico will go. Bill Richardson is
now endorsing Kerry and he is very popular with older Hispanics, from
what I have seen. On the other hand the Anglos here are about evenly
divided between highly paid weapons scientists (presumably
Republican), ranchers in the southeast (also presumably Republican?)
and the new age crowd, mostly in Santa Fe, who are presumably
Democrats. I have no idea how the Native Americans will vote and they
are about 10% of the population.

I don't know if this item made the national news, but Bernalillo
County (where Albuquerque is) is predicting that it will take them at
least a full day after election day to process all the absentee
ballots. A lot of people requested them because of touch-screen
concerns. I also saw something in the local paper about 17% of the
votes already being in in the south.

That will be the confounding factor, I think. Turnout. Lots of new
voters who are not considered "likely" at the moment.
