Having been inside the sausage factory, I can report that our democracy is not at risk
because of the little tricks that political operatives of all stripes play during
election season. Just consider the machine politics of Tammany Hall in New York in the
latter half of the 19th century. That was as corrupt a political machine as any in our
history and we all survived it just fine.

But I also hear you about trusting the BBC without proof. I'd like to see this story
reported as hard news by another media outlet before I give it any creedence.
