My feeling is generally that no single candidate ever meets all of my
personal criteria. So you always pick the closest one then make yourself
feel better about the decision (if he wins) by planning to maintain an
appropriate level of activism and criticism. ;^)

Just because you voted for somebody doesn't mean you should calmly accept
everything they do. In fact it's your duty to criticize where needed and
let your reps know they've disappointed you.

Although I too am in a state where my presidential vote does nothing useful
in the long run. But there's always the other offices!

Subject: Voting observation...and a question

Ok, just voted. Took me about an hour. I decided I would go in at about
9:15, trying to avoid the pre-work voters hoping for a smaller line. My plan
worked, in theory. The lines were relatively short....but my plan also
backfired because the line was relatively OLD.

I think it's great that people in their 100's are voting...I really really
do. But....I'd be lying if i didn't say i'd love for voters to be broken out
by age as well as district and/or name. If it took you 30 minutes and 3
helpers to vote......*sigh*.....

Anyway, as for the actual vote....I felt dirty after my presidential vote, I
really did. I don't see how you die-hards can cast your vote for either of
these yokels and leave the booth smiling. My question is.....should I feel
guilty for taking some solace in the fact that I voted in a state where my
vote will have absolutely no bearing on the outcome????
