Subject: Real, competative Democratic Presidential candidate

Does anyone else wish the Democrats could find a GOOD candidate?

My ideal would be Bill Clinton as we thought he was before we knew him.

What I'd love to see:
Take a guy who served in Desert Storm or was in one of the special forces.
  Reasonably attractive, but not pretty.
  50-55 years old.
  Reasonable bright.
Made some money on his own. Preferably in a blue collar industry as top
level management or sales.
  Is married.
  Goes to church on Sundays.
  Conservative on fiscal issues
  Moderate on social issues.
No major skeletons in his closet.
  Southern or western accent.

There have to be tens of thousands who fit this bill.

Take him now, and get him some national- level business experience. Maybe
give him a stake in a major-league ball team. Boston seems willing.

Run him for Governor in a southern/western state in 2006
(Florida?Alabama?Georgia?Oklahoma?Tennessee?South Carolina?Would Texas be
too obvious?)
If he can't win on his own, run him with someone who can, and who can then
step aside after a few months due to heatlh reasons.

Run him for President.

He'd get ALL of the current blue states. He'd snipe away at some of the red
states.

Hello. HELLO. Is this thing on?
