Think of Flex as the front end. XAML is basically the same thing with more 
limitations (only windows at the moment) and advantages (can build compiled 
desktop apps as well). 
I've got a small app designed which will use CF to create a sundown calendar 
based on a specific location for a year. Tiny, but exact to a few feet and can 
be used off line. CF gets the data from the naval observatory and uses it to 
built the XML.
