The ATI Radeon X800XT is faster than the Ultra, takes up only one slot, runs a lot cooler, is quieter and you probably would not have needed to spend the extra money on a new powersupply.
This round belongs to ATI at the ultra high end. But I think most people won't care that the X800XT is 5% faster than the 6800 Ultra if they like Nvidia. However for me the space and power considerations in the case PLUS the XT being faster would lead me to purchase an XT. It is debateable which is much better between the 6800GT and X800 Pro. I may go with the GT, but HalfLife 2 results will tell. I need something futureproof, because I don't intend to buy another card for a year or two (hopefully ;-) ). I had trouble with Best Buy.com. And over the period when they were going through some major site transition, their site was down several times over the course of a month. I thought that was notable for such a large company, and wondered whether it was 'normal' or abnormal. I thought that systems were run in parallel at the Enterprise level so that when rolled out it works first time.
