Jews are not supposed to have any contact with women other than their wives (or immediate family). This is done in degrees with some having no problem with a hug or handshake with other women (as long as their wives agree :)) while others are not comfortable with even a handshake. Many, though not all, Chasidim will refrain from handshakes with women. And if your receptionist was hot and/or wearing clothing that accented her hotness, it would only compound the problem. :) > mikey d. > > we have some clients in from out of town today > and they are hasidic. is it not kosher (Sorry, bad pun) > to shake the hand of a woman? > > they looked @ our receptionist like she was nuts, and > got red and flustered when she attempted to shake their hands. > > -- > tony > > Tony Weeg > > macromedia certified coldfusion mx developer > email: tonyweeg [at] gmail [dot] com > blog: http://www.revolutionwebdesign.com/blog/ > cool tool: http://www.antiwrap.com > >
