I suppose I should just tell the truth and say "I got a big late check from
a client threw my money on the counter at the local computer shop and yelled
'I wants to play Doom 3! Make me smile, bubba! Make me smile!'"

But um... I guess I'll say that "after much research and a lot of comparison
shopping I weighed my options carefully and decided that its benefits most
aptly fit my needs." ;^)

(Actually, to be serious. I was upgrading from a Matrox Parhelia and wanted
to stick with Dual DVI - no ATI cards had that.)

I've been very pleased with the card to date - but your are absolutely
correct: it's a power hungry beast that takes up two slots (although one
slot is strictly for the surprisingly quiet cylindrical fan).

But it do make dem purty picatures!

Ok...
I'm curious though, what factored into your decision to buy the 6800 Ultra?
