That is a very excellent point. My answer is I don't know. I'm not saying that be aloof or avoid answering the question. I write that because I can see the point for both sides. The Cable Company said they will give you unlimited access to their lines. They didn't say unlimited and free range to their lines. Such language would mean that wouldn't care if you were using their lines to distribute stolen songs and movies. Maybe use their lines to run an online casino or launder money. You get what I'm saying. On the other side, I do see your point that blocking certain ports is restricting access to the net. There is a give a take here...but don't you think at least the cable companies are moving in the right direction? How much spam is sent through unsuspecting computers that are attached to Comcast or OptimumOnline. We aren't stopping anyone from using their service the way it was intended to be used. Additionally, the services that one wants can be easily acquired through other providers. Fine, you don't like their new policy of closing a port. Then you go to them and say so. Tell them you feel that the new policy breaches your contract and asked to be released with no penalty. Then choose another service. -- 2004 - The year $184M couldn't buy a pennant. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Gold Sponsor - CFHosting.net http://www.cfhosting.net Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:135689 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
