Anyone own a telescope? I am looking to buy one as a gift and am wondering what kind of power would be needed to casually look at birds and other animals. More powerful than binoculars, but not trying to see the beings on Mars. Any brands you'd recommend? Any I should stay away from? On another note, I am looking at an Avaratec laptop. It's a steal at Circuit City at $899 (after rebates). I've heard pretty good things about it if anyone is in the market. TIA Candace K.
