I for one believe it is wrong because many of the IRR soldiers would
volunteer to return to service.  Also many of these activated soldiers
will be rejected for health reasons.

However, when an officer leaves the US Army the IRR time lasts until
they turn 65, I think.  I do know it is longer than the 2 years in the
contract for enlisted soldiers.

I'll be an ass here and say that these guys knew about the IRR
obligation because it was in their contracts.  When I was in the
National Guard we had a similar problem, but they signed a contract with
criminal penalties for breaking it.

Aren't we digging through the bottom of the barrel here?  A 47 year
old guy with OJI who's been out of flight for 7 years?  Can't the
military find enough new recruits?  Is this a way to avoid the draft?
