Swaggart lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (60 miles NW of where I live in New
Orleans). In the 70s an $85K house was upper class for that area at the
least. My parents house was 16K and was over 2500 square feet when they
bought it in 1973 in a nice middle class neighborhood. In his defense ;) he
lived in the state capital of Louisiana, the home of the best politicians
money could buy. He was just stoopping to the level of the rest of the
people in the area.

When he was found in the no-tell motel in New Orleans, it was by an
investigator hired by Reverend Gormann, another local teleganvalist. What
Jimmy claims happened was he was ministering to the ladies of the evening,
trying to get them to leave thier profession. When he had the one he was
visiting saved, he was ambushed by the investigator and the story made front
page news here.

Thankfully at the time his version story came out, I was wearing boots.
