Well, yes. But it used to be hidden. And it used to be embarrassing to have 
this brought out in the open. Don't you remember all the flack the Republicans 
gave Clinton for "selling the Whitehouse" and the Lincoln bedroom?

But in this case, it seems the choices on appointments are not based on 
long-standing friendships, or similar ideologies, or even party or political 
support, but purely on dollars. Those who brought in the most dollars got the 
best positions.

I think the Bush team have taken "selling out" to a new, soaring pinnacle of 
corruption.
