So, the circus comes into the small town. To help drum up business, the animal trainer posts a sign: "Make the elephant do a special trick, and earn $50."
At the time of the show, the trainer says "You can make an elephant lift his front legs, and you can make an elephant lift his rear legs. But you can't make an elephant lift all four legs at once. I'll give $50 to anyone who can." A cute little kid waves his hand enthusiastically. The trainer things "he could never do this" and lets him try. The kid walks up to the rear of the elephant with two rocks in his hands. WHAM! he smacks the rocks together on the elephant's most sensitive parts. The elephant, startled and in pain, jumps all four legs off the ground. Reluctantly, the trainer gives the kid the money. The following night, the trainer sees the kid in the audience again. "Uh oh", he thinks, "gotta try a different trick". "You can train an elephant to shake his head yes, and you can train an elephant to shake his head no, but you can't train an elephant to shake his head both yes and no. I'll give $50 to anyone who can". Again the little kid waves his hand frantically. The trainer tries to ignore him. But the crowd clamors for the trainer to let the kid attempt it. The kid walks up in front of the elephant. "Remember me?"
