I have to agree with your viewpoint as well. I am a Christian Democrat, and many of the scathing essays deriding the "Religious Right" tend to include me because I am a Christian, although I definitely did not vote for George W. Bush. I think there is definitely a Religious Right, but to deride them for their religion rather than their reasoning is to insult half the Democrat party as well. I got the following essay this morning and while agreeing with some of it, I found myself insulted not only because of my faith, but my geographic area as well:
