I have to agree with your viewpoint as well.  I am a Christian Democrat, and
many of the scathing essays deriding the "Religious Right" tend to include
me because I am a Christian, although I definitely did not vote for George
W. Bush. I think there is definitely a Religious Right, but to deride them
for their religion rather than their reasoning is to insult half the
Democrat party as well.  I got the following essay this morning and while
agreeing with some of it, I found myself insulted not only because of my
faith, but my geographic area as well:

I had a fellow Democrat send this to me, btw.  I admire the party I belong
to for its inclusiveness, but I sure don't want to belong to a party that is
inclusive to everyone except Christians.
